102 hand. Nevertheless, Staines et al. (2023) have recently shown that global warming projections would lead to an increased climate-induced feminization, even for nesting areas currently exhibiting optimal thermal conditions. Considering the mean air temperature projected increase of 1.5-3.2°C in New Caledonia by the end of the century (Teurlai et al. 2015), future interventions may be required in the GLS area to increase male production. Predicting global warming impacts on sea turtle reproductive success and hatchling survival rates provides key information for implementing coherent conservation policies at global scales (Fuentes and Cinner 2010). A lack of long-term data to assess primary sex ratios produced at various nesting aggregations and to understand whether hatchling sex ratios persist into successive age classes over time has been reported (Hamann et al. 2010). Considering the predicted increase in temperatures by the end of the century (Cheng et al. 2019; Ekah et al. 2023), this situation calls for an urgent need to widely expand nest temperature monitoring programs to fill in important regional knowledge gaps. Here, we report on the importance of also considering the nesting habitat diversity at the scale of rookeries to accurately evaluate population feminization trends. In the special case where individuals from the same genetic stock use multiple nesting habitats presenting different thermal environments (Bentley et al. 2020), this study highlights that the implementation of nest temperature surveys over the representative set of nesting habitats show an interesting potential to prioritize and optimize resource deployment devoted to on-site conservation measures. 6.
